Toyota Hybrid Sports Car: So 21st Century!

The Toyota FT-HS pictured above is a really cool looking sportscar isn’t it? It’s also a hybrid car. The futuristic design of the vehicle combined with the fact that it’s a green car that is good for the earth means that this car is really a 21st century vehicle. So when are we going to see it hit the highways?

The vehicle first started getting attention in late 2006. It made headlines as a twenty-first century vehicle that was going to be as fast and fun to drive as a Ferrari but as earth-friendly as a four-cylinder compact car. A unique set of green Toyota parts was supposed to make this possible. Perhaps trying to get the balance just right between these two competing desires from car owners has been tough because the release date of this vehicle has been delayed again and again.

This definitely looks like a cool car. It would be a lot of fun to drive it. It would even be fun to dress it up with additional Toyota accessories. But who knows for sure when we’re going to get the chance to do that. The latest word is that this vehicle may not actually be produced for buyers until 2011. Some rumors even say that this concept car is never going to come to fruition at all. Hopefully that’s not true because it has the potential to be a really cool car for the modern driver.

I think Toyota, BMW and whoever, should make a sports car similar to Tesla’s high end sports car.
