A good friend of mine told me about this online backup service that he uses called Carbonite.  We run our business out of our home and cannot imagine the disaster that would occur if we lost the data on any one of our three computers.

So every 30 days we religiously backed everything up from each PC to a 4th hard drive.  What a pain.  So we decided to give Carbonite a try – and oh man what a life saver.  All three PCs are now backed up in real time.  Best off all it is backed up on their remote servers.  I was concerned that this would slow my computer down or take forever to accomplish.  To be honest, it is a little slow at first…. but that is because I want instant gratification.

Check this out.  It backed up 6 gig – yep 6 gigabytes in 2 weeks.  It would have been much faster, but I told it I only wanted it to back up at night when I wasn’t using my PC — because I did not want to have my computer slowed down at all.  But the other two computers each backed up about 2 gigs of data in 3 days.  Now it is just maintaining our backups in real time and we never notice that it is even working.

You can start with a free trial ,but at $49 per year (or $4 per month) this is CHEAP!
