Select a Candidate 2008
By JustCool on Oct 3, 2007 in Cool People, Cool Stuff
Answer the 11 questions at Select a Candidate 2008 to find out which candidates are most aligned with your views and opinions. They are all multiple choice and takes about 2 minutes. It’s a pretty cool use of a survey. The quiz is not meant to pick your candidate for you. It is designed to inform the public of the various stances candidates make.
Some of the questions include:
- Iraq: What is your opinion on the war in Iraq?
- Immigration: What is your position on immigration in the United States?
- Health Care: Do you favor or oppose the concept of universal health care in America?
- Marriage: Do you favor or oppose a constitutional amendment defining marriage as between one man and one woman?
Results are not scientific. I seem to be aligned with McCain.

Thought this was cool but there is actually way better and more complete: http://www.select2008.com
You can select the candidates you have in mind for the 2008 Presidential elections (for instance Clinton, Giuliani, Obama, etc.). I believe you can compare 6 candidates at a time. You can also select the issues you are interested in, like healthcare, the war in Iraq, the environment, or second amendment rights. Select2008 will then ask you a few questions. Once you’ve done about thirty questions, you can review your results and compare how candidates address your concerns. It’s really helped me narrow down the candidates I’m gonna follow over the next few weeks of the presidential campaign.
Another cool feature is that you can invite a few friends and compare how you answer. It was a bit eye-opening but very fun!
