Browsing the Malls
By JustCool on Dec 27, 2009 in Shopping
Since it is that time of year where most of us do a lot of shopping, I have found myself spending more than the usual amount of time in shopping malls. If you know me at all, I am indifferent when it comes to shopping, so that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
But the one thing that I noticed this year was that the malls were all different. Now, that might seem like something obvious, but I guess I should say that the way that they presented themselves was different.
The malls that had less foot traffic didn’t pay as much attention to how their establishment looked. Presentation can play a big factor when it comes to making buying decisions. Unfortunately for the store owners in those malls, their sales were just not going to reach the potential that they could because the malls didn’t take the time to put their best foot forward.
But what really stood out for me was the malls that made their establishment look top notch. My favorite mall had a banner stand attached to ever pillar, and it made you feel like they cared if you were there. In fact, if I look at my spending over the last month, I spent the most money in the malls that took the time to impress me.
So, though this season was certainly expensive, it was enlightening. I never really realized why I liked one place over another until this year.
